Valentine’s Day and STEM

Planning ahead, I came across a site that I would like to share: Valentine STEM and Reading Activity from Jennifer Findley’s Teaching to Inspire Website.

There you will find written and visual directions on how to create the cupid’s bow, along with a reading passage and student handouts. I thought the idea was a clever way to not only use everyday materials, but incorporate STEM and literacy. The use of everyday materials reminds me of one of my favorite books, A Leaf Can Be… and how my co-teacher and I used it to teach repurposing. 🙂
